Lovely Inger Axö stars in this kid detective story about a professor whose discovery, a way to turn light metals like aluminum into impenetrable armor, gets him kidnapped along with his young son. Inger's character Eva-Lotta winds up taken captive too when she tries to help them, leaving her friends to come to the rescue.

Inger Axö turned 14 about two weeks before shooting began. She was born on June 19, 1939 and according to the Swedish film database:

The filming of Mästerdetektiven och Rasmus started at the beginning of July 1953 and continued until the latter half of August ...

Her age at the time is mistakenly listed as 13 in a lot of places. Just wanted to set the record straight. This site is a great reference for Swedish films by the way - it tends to have a lot more info than IMDb:

The version I'm posting is a 1080p webrip, which not only has greatly improved picture quality but that extra little scene (missing from the 720p rip) of our heroine in her favorite ... swimsuit.

Both original Swedish and English translated subtitles are included.

I've come across this movie, or at least the title, during my time hunting around for Lindgren and Swedish children's film material. But I know very little about it. Will look more into it tomorrow, and until then, I am grabbing your upgrade and subs!

The additional scene is that brief segment where they're running through the woods after leaving the beach. I went and checked the time, it starts at 47:14. Not a long scene but very nice.
