Indeed, the colors were far too dark. I did some color correction. Not perfect, but better.
Besides I changed the jerky NTSC framerate of 29.97 fps to 23.98 fps. Now it's running smoothly.

First time doing this so I hope the links post correctly. I have the DVD and had ripped and upscaled it to 720p. It's a very dark movie. I also converted the all caps subs on the DVD to normal case.
