At least in the US, the goal during the era of broadcast TV was to reach the magical number of episodes needed for syndication as fast as possible, which could vary between 80-100 episodes. Syndication (re-runs) was a big money maker. Things are definitely different today with streaming platforms.

There was even a time BEFORE syndication existed. Those are the days of 3 dozen or more episodes per season. I think that was the 1950s and early 1960s? Admittedly before my time. I have only seen those shows... later in syndication!

In episode 2, "The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler," they revealed the name of the missing person. It's Michael's sister who will be kidnapped by Vecna, transforming into the human who appeared in season 4 when Eleven was in a lab with that traitorous guard "001," if I remember correctly.

Nell Fisher will play Holly Wheeler, Michael's younger sister, and she'll appear in eight episodes. I'm posting the first image of her from IMDB, which looks frightened, as if she's seen something horrifying, perhaps Vecna.
