Out of curiosity, does the girl have much screentime? I had a bit of a browse through the movie and she seems to mainly only appear towards the end (Unless I browsed pretty bad)

I remember the girl as a supporting character without much screentime, but admittedly I watched it for Charles Bronson. He did several excellent films in Europe in the 60s/70s, and some of them had both English-language versions and versions where Bronson was dubbed into the language of the country that made the film. This film probably had a French-language version in addition to the English.
