hmmm... :think

Yes, this could be a candidate for an upscale. I've already thought about that. ;)

So every time I spend $100 for a new 4 Tb drive I have to actually spend $200 for two of them? Do you have any idea how many hamburgers that could buy me instead?
Spoiler:

(Not as many as it used to.) I am now up to downloading 1 Tb a MONTH when it used to take me more than a year. I am going to go broke on storage costs!

This is my first hard drive loss EVER and I am currently on #16 total used, I think. (Not counting flash drives, which are deliberately temporary storage only.) My theory is that if I accidentally do it again then I will realize it is simply not worth it to try to save everything "forever" and the new psychology of hoarding LESS will save me on storage that way. (I seem to remember a song that advises people to "Let It Go". It's about hoarders, right?) I have finally started wiping space on old drives where the files are duplicated, upgraded, or simply no longer of any interest. That takes SO many hours to accomplish because I actually have to look at what is there on the drive before I delete it. Finally, I have also realized that even if I lose the contents of a drive, I am only losing something that I will probably never have the time to actually WATCH. It mostly exists as a resource for resharing at FLM. What I really need is a RAID that sits permanently unmoving on a desk hooked up to a desktop computer. I won't drop that.

Better than losing data :)
Also keeping 2 backups makes it even harder to loose.

Wanna know my solution?

All my movies are stored on a 12 TB NAS. It is automatically backed up to another 12 TB hard disk every night.

That works!

Although I am up to 25 Tb total in storage over the past 14 years. If you had told me that back then...

Here's the upscale from the DVD to 1080p.
I didn't keep the Gemain audio track, because the dubbing was done so badly and sounded really silly. :|

Well, I suppose Burt Reynolds might call them "little farts".

Thanks for the upscale!
