Upgrade!!! Another film I never thought we'd see on bluray - but Beau père (1981) has finally received the full HD treatment it deserves! As soon as I saw it was out I ordered it, took about two weeks to ship. So here it is.
Stars the absolutely gorgeous Ariel Besse, barely 15 in her debut role. On a side note: you'd think her 34-year-old costar Patrick Dewaere would be loving life right around the time he filmed this movie but he committed suicide only a year later.
The file contains original French audio and English subtitles. As always with my rips, the subs will display automatically in most media players but they're not hardcoded into the video so you can turn them off.
Here are direct links for those who prefer that method or can't use eMule for whatever reason. All I ask is that if you're able to use eMule, please move the file to your shared folder and seed for a while. Every source helps.

That bit about the actor Patrick puts a depressing tone on it Did some reading and one NY Times article said it was later revealed his ex called him shortly before - said he couldn't see their daughter again! That his ex had left him for his previous best friend. He had drinking and financial problems. Seems his life wasn't going swimmingly! Did say he was one of the best actors of the previous decade, worked with a lot of young, now famous directors - makes me want to check out more of his films!

in fact, since I am on the new mac m1 system recently, this was my first try on Topaz, I tried this one first and it looked gorgeous, but nothing beats the real article! Thanks a lot!

Is a great film. Watched it last night! The piano playing is nice too.
The '4th wall' narration was clever.
Spoiler:
Was happy it didn't have a sad/tragic ending!
Amusingly at no point did the guy say I can't, it's illegal - maybe it wasn't in France at the time! In most countries if you raised the daughter it would be regarded as incest - even if not related.
Am curious to check out the actors other films. He was such a good actor!

Thank you for the dl links deadman !
David32441: Dewaere was a great actor, from the same generation and background as Gérard Depardieu. He left far too soon.
