I very rarely watch movies online from streaming sites, I always download them, and watch them with VLC player (I only watch short movies online on vimeo)

The download question was already answered. Regarding the geo-restrictations, Amazon would love to collect your payment from anywhere in the world to stream a movie. The issue is the copyright holder sold Amazon a distribution license for only a specific region and Amazon is contractually obligated to prevent anyone from outside that region from viewing the video.

Paying for a movie to watch and not being able to download it is a absurdity. Another question is where do they indicate the quality of the movie? They just write at the bottom DVD or HD and that's all, the main parameters are not specified - this is another minus

Paying for a movie to watch is a rental, and that is they business choice they make for some movies. Buying to own is something else that they can do or not do as they wish! Nobody has to do it if they do not want, and Jeff Bezos (owner of Amazon) will still be a multi-multi-billionaire. I also have difficulty finding the HD or SD quality, which does not seem to be listed much of the time -- but since I am not paying, it does not really matter.

We'll have to wait , and check from time to time for some rare movies (that are on amazon) when they appear online or on other resources
