I‘m now fairly confident the bigger file (5GB) is an AMZN „1080p“ Web-dL (selling it as „HD“:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M8DN7C3)
I am getting the file and will compare it again with the dvd in detail. But you’ve mentioned having looked at it in the past and it not being superior quality than the dvd because it is a simple upscale.
Feels similar to „Psy“ (1992) AMZN…

The Amazon web-dl of
Psy is true 1080p. I've looked at the 5.4 GB amzn 1080p rip of
Moonlight and it's just another upscale, DVD quality converted to 1920x1080 format and not genuine HD. The DVD actually looks slightly better than any of the Amazon versions. The file on eMule is 600 MB larger and in the size range you'd expect of a true 1080p version - but with so little of it downloaded I can't preview it and look at the stats, bitrate and so forth.
Actually, I tried previewing and to my surprise, it worked. Don't waste your time with the 6GB file. It's
Moonlight (2016), not the
Moonlight (2002) we want. I hate mislabeled files! Fuck the guy who put it on eMule. Moron.

The one idiot who has the whole thing connects for short periods at a time with a long queue so you often don't get anything before the source is gone again. It's going to take
forever to download. And it's a real long shot that it will be any better than existing versions. I have enough space on my hard drive that I don't really care though, so I'll just leave it and see if it ever finishes, or at least gets far enough along to preview.
I had downloaded 300MB of the 6GB file and weirdly I was able to preview the video file (the entirety?..like I could skip forward through the film with mpv player).
It was Moonlight (2016) with Mahershalah Ali. I just deleted it.
With Psy, I now have to think about which versions I will keep. Hardcoded subs is not great. Why would they have to do this….just give us external ones. The AMZN one indeed does look slightly higher res and more clear..

Now that's coordination!

Huh, is the original language for this movie English?
I have deadman's copy and it seems to be English (I didn't think this was an English film)

Netherlands film with a Dutch-speaking girl who encounters a refugee from Afghanistan. They have English as a common language.

The Netherlands have one of the highest English literacy rates in Europe. More than 90% of Dutch people can speak the language, in addition to their own. Laurien van den Broeck speaks her native Dutch plus English, French, and German. There's actually some French dialogue in her character Claire's adoptive home - but most of the film was shot in English (the soundtrack is not dubbed).
This is one of my favorites. I've always found Laurien captivating. Sadly, still no bluray or even true 1080p web-dl. Searching for releases is complicated by the fact that Moonlight Mile (2002) and Moonlight (2016) both generate tons of results and links related to
this Moonlight are few and far between. I check every once in a while ... but if anyone sees a new release please let me know! Even if it's expensive.

I did not know that
I learnt something new, thank you!
