Turn up the brightness knob on your TV?
You are right, this does have a dark image.
In VLC you can go to Tools / Effects and Filters
( or use Ctrl+E )
go to Video Effects, check the Image adjust box
and then move the Brightness slider.
But honestly, it does not really help much. Sorry.
This age-restricted Youtube video looks like it has been processed with DNR and is MAYBE a little bit brighter:

Thanks.
You're right though, there appears to be only one poor quality source for this movie. I'm not sure if it's actually a VHS rip though. There are no scan lines or image distortion. It looks to me more like an analog cable broadcast recorded on a first generation capture card as MPEG1. It's got the kind of static that results from imperfect reception, and the lines and bubbles of a film in need of restoration. The DVD was just a re-encoding of that LQ source.
Susanne Storm (shown in the previous post) who was 14 at the time of filming, was one of the many victims of Director Ernst Johansen. Seems he slept with nearly all of the girls on the film after inviting them to his house for "private castings". This article talks more about it:
https://www-ekkofilm-dk.translate.goog/ ... r_pto=wapp
When one of the 15 year old extras (then 16) committed suicide by stepping in front of a train, her diary revealed the actions of Ernst Johansen to police. He fled the country and even had plastic surgery to alter his appearance. He was eventually caught anyway but all his efforts at evasion turned out to be unnecessary: he got a slap on the wrist. It's a bizarre tale that sounds like the plot of a Lifetime channel movie.
This is probably why there's no DVD or bluray. No one wants to touch the toxic legacy of this production, despite the story itself being quite good.
