pistachio certainly has license to be proud of the work on these subs. Most all the rewriting was done by pistachio, and they're pretty darn sharp! I have simply been assisting in the slow process of combing through through with further editing.

I am very excited to see what everyone thinks of them. And I am sure there are a few German speaking members here that will get a laugh out of some of the goofy mistakes we'll likely have. ;)

You're being modest. Most of the translating was on your end. :P

But yeah, I'm probably overselling it. I love this movie, and it's nice doing something in a way you'd like seeing it done.

If you two would get over praising each other, finish the work and post the darn subtitles I would be very happy!

 I mean that in good humor. I am grateful for your collaboration and excited to see the results.

I watched the 1953 version (which already has subtitles available) and enjoyed it quite a bit. I have been looking forward to watching this version too, but I was willing to wait until you were finished. But you keep TEASING me, not fair!

Well, these are them.

I "finished" these, and figured I would run them by pillowbaker to make sure we didn't end up doing two simultaneous SRTs. Then he starts piling on all these cultural references and things I overlooked. There was so much missing from both German subs. Not mistranslated, but completely omitted. I don't know how something like that happens.

I haven't been able to get a hold of that one. Uloz, archive, emule. Nothing anywhere. Even with the alternative titles Annalouise/Annaluise und Anton.

I'd like to find an English version of the book, too, but no such luck.

Anyway.

Subtitles! Yay!

Thanks for the creds, pistachio!

Hope everyone enjoys. Pücktchen is one of the most fun main girls I seen in a while. She did not hold back and gave every scene her all. She was JUST GREAT.

For the 1953 film, I got it from BK:

Do you have an account on BK (blizzard kid)? It's free, and unlocks the links. I went for the HDTVrip 2.22gb. I'll seed it some more if anyone wishes to download it.

Not sure if this will work if I just copy/paste it, but here's the magnet link from the BK site. [Code] Want the book? I found this on B&N:
https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/dot-an ... 1138427156

Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Dot-Anton-Erich- ... 1782690573

:!: Oh, and I found this for ya, in English. (download it like a movie, epub ;)):

Whaddya doin' down here? Go download the subs! Go now. Up one post!

Thank you both! Collaborations are a great idea.
