Yes, eMule must be running. Otherwise you can't down- or upload files. If i download an ed2k link from one of the REL threads and i disconnect from emule, will the download stop until i turn emule back on?
Step-by-Step eMule Setup

Re: Step-by-Step eMule Setup
Yes emule needs to be on/connected/running in order to download. The files do NOT download "in the cloud" to be recovered later. They go directly to your computer. If emule is not on then nothing goes to your computer. Peer-to-peer sharing relies on the source and the destination to be online and using their emule at the same time.

Yes, he's just a professional.
Re: Step-by-Step eMule Setup
I don't get paid for this in money, so I am an amateur doing it for the LOVE.
Re: Step-by-Step eMule Setup
What's the go with this
I download a direct download on this forum (through things like pixeldrain or mega) and it takes me not even 5 minutes
I download through emule and it takes me over half a day
I think for now i'm gonna not use emule unless i'm super desperate

Re: Step-by-Step eMule Setup
For those like me who have a low ID on eMule, it usually occurs when the program is unable to establish a full connection to the eD2K and Kad networks, often due to router or firewall issues that prevent the program from communicating properly with external servers. This can limit download and upload speeds.

You may be able to properly configure your router and firewall so that the TCP and UDP ports used by eMule are open and accessible. It's also advisable to use an up-to-date and reliable server list.
