I literally froze. I must admit that the ending especially hit me in the heart. What can I say? I don't know. All I can say is it was touching, striking and harsh. :eyecrazy

Watched the movie, then read the book and watched the movie again.

DAMN!!

I know that 90% of the time a book is better than the movie because of the ability of the book to go into details that would be too hard to film and because of time restraints in trying to keep the average movie under 2 hours. The problem with THIS movie / book comparison is that, imo, the things left out in the movie made the movie even LESS impactive than it could have been. And as others have posted, this was a movie that made and impact on them.

I'm not going to give out spoilers, but I urge members to check out the book by Jordan Harper:

At 257 pages (almost a novella) it's a quick read.

AND had the movie followed the book more closely, it probably would NOT have extended the time of the movie that much more. With the way they juggled scenes around then added more crap to make those scenes work; the timing would, more than likely, have not been that different.

Overall, enjoyed this movie alot and glad I didn't read the book beforehand..
