Agreed! Sadly, there was never a DVD or bluray and no decent HDTV rip exists. There's always an outside shot at an eventual 1080p streaming version, but this movie is obscure enough that we can't count on that.

Definitely an over-the-air TV broadcast. You can actually see in a couple of places where someone was playing with the knob on their rabbit ears to get better reception. But recorded using a capture card rather than videotape - you'll notice there's none of the fuzz or distortion common to VHS rips.

Some AI processing was done to reduce the prominence of the interference lines and there's a noticeable plasticface effect from that. I'd love to see the original unprocessed recording. The lines would be a more pronounced but I think I'd prefer that to the AI effects. You really do need a high quality source for tools like Topaz to improve the video, otherwise they degrade it.

Yes, it's a TV movie made in 1993 by Roger Vadim, so no chance of seeing it one day on dvd or blu ray... There is this heavy file that unfortunately is not grandiose. It's in French, but the Italian actor is dubbed (RAI participated in the production).

I'm trying to make english subtitles for this but the video above is overly AI processed. I see two versions on emule with no sources - one is 1.46gb (and possibly the one the AI version is based on), the other is 1.04gb. If anyone has either please share. I'll get started on subs if there's a decent video. Thank you.

It seems that every version ever available is either a VHSrip or processed from one. I am not sure that you will get a version from them that gives enough video quality to satisfy you.

VHS quality is fine but the Russian rip may be the worst of the 3 available, not counting the wax figure version linked above lol If the other sources are still dead after a while I'll probably get started on the Russian version, no worries.
