Huh? I always thought length/runtime of a movie does have a play in filesize? I guess not
Anyway, thanks!
I'm not technical enough to know the definition of what bitrate does
I guess I'll google later

It does have a play, but it's not the only factor. All kinds of details of the making of each movie file play a role: the software used, the file format and codecs, the quality settings on the software, and so on.

Really, it's just bitrate and length. Bitrate is the amount of bits stored per second and the length is, well, how many seconds there are. Combine those two factors and you literally get the filesize (bits).
The codec determines how efficient those bits are. It can be thought of as the compression algorithm. The better the algorithm, the fewer the bits are needed to extract to the same quality video.

Thank you, guys.
I wanted to explain it in the simplest way possible.

Pixeldrain version:

MEGA version:
[Code]

The larger TV5MONDE pixeldrain version has higher bitrate and is also 37 seconds longer! I do not think any footage was cut in the shorter version. Both files are 25 fps so it must be that the original SOURCE for the shorter one was running faster, or recoding a 24 fps source to 25 fps made it run faster.
The files are small so download them both and watch it twice! It is a great short film!!

So, you can't really tell any difference between the 2 versions?
If there's really no difference between the 2, I'll just stick with the smaller file size

They did something wrong with the frame rate on TV5MONDE. If you look closely you will notice that the movements are not smooth. So I kept my version.

Somehow it does not surprise me that when ghost codes a video he DOES IT RIGHT!
I had seen this short before but I don't know what version I watched. I just downloaded both versions today to get the specs.
Side by side I can see slight visual differences but I did not actually just sit and watch the whole videos. Of course they slowly get out of sync with each other, so I can't watch 2 versions simultaneously for the whole runtime without going bonkers!

That was arte.tv, not me.
