I took a look again at the 1080p file I posted some days ago and it looks only like a normal upscale from SD.
So I used deadman's DVD as source and made an AI-upscale to 1080p. Its not perfect due the poor quality of the DVD, but I*m pretty pleased.
I corrected also the very pale colors.

The DVD actually isn't too bad. Middle of the road, nothing spectacular, but not bad either. Your version is definitely an improvement though. A little more detail in the image and
much better contrast - the washed out look is gone. Thanks Ghost!
