Yes, that does make things confusing! Both deadman and David32441 were pretty certain about there being no subtitles from any source, which is why David32441 did his audio translation project.

For the other movie, the DVD artwork says NO subtitles, but the ISO has a subtitle track coded, BUT nothing displays on the screen so the track must be blank! I have encountered that before with other movies so it must be some default empty track created by ripping software.

Maybe the DVD encoding software creates a blank subtitle by default? But yeah, it's fan subtitled now. I guess if there were subtitles on the DVD they would have leaked to the internet many many years ago.

Every time I think that ought to be the case, I come across a movie with apparently no subtitles available either at opensubtitles or embedded in P2P MKVs, yet there is a record of a released DVD that has subtitles. It takes someone motivated to rip and OCR them.

I can not name any examples off the top of my head, but I know there are a few subtitles here that I ripped, OCRd and shared in recent years, rather than years and years ago! But did I take the extra effort to post them on opensubtitles for people who are not FLM members? Um, well, no. For shame, for shame!

I tried to post these on https://www.opensubtitles.org/en - but couldn't before. They're there now though.

I was actually only criticizing myself, not intending to make snide remarks about you or anyone else! Glad you put your subtitles there now.

No offence taken. But if you or anyone can find a way of posting "Inseperables" to the same site though. I can't seem to.

So I encoded it twice (making sure to keep % and final size the same on each) to make 2 giant 100gb videos. Dropped both into Shotcut (like Premiere or any other video editor) and if you drop in 2 video streams you can make the top one xx% transparent so some of both show through. Rendered that in Shotcut to a new giant master file. Then did a final encode in Handbrake (it has more mp4 settings than Shotcut).
Sounds like black magic haha! :) thanks again.

Has someone already tried OpenAIā€˜s whisper on this film?
