ghost wrote "I still can see february 4th as release date for the bluray."

not sure where you were looking. but looking at distributors you will find a different date.

feb. 4th was the first date it was suppose to be released then it got push back to the 24th of february and now amazon told me today expected delivery 1 to 3 weeks. the dvd has been released on february 17th. but amazon has told me they still don't have it and will be 7 to 9 more days. i have received 4 emails over the past 6 weeks saying it keeps getting pushed back.
so i canceled the dvd. i am downloading instead.

:)

It looks like Amazon cancelled the entire movie, searching for Hounddog on amazon.com doesn't show the normal DVD any more. So maybe they decided it wasn't worth any hassle they were getting over it.

The Bluray seems to be indefinitely backordered elsewhere, which in my experience means it might never come. ebay is often a good indicator of this, and there is just one Bluray listing left there and it's labelled backorder. The same seller has the normal DVD in stock, though.

Searching for Hounddog on amazon.com shows only related stuff as compiled through their customer data. Interesting selection. In order: Secret Life of Bees (make sense), Changeling (makes no sense, it's the story of a kidnapped little boy), America's Funniest Home Videos Motherhood Madness (makes sense, a little girl on the cover). Followed by a bunch of OT FLM releases: Pornografia, Little Lips, Pretty Baby, A Summer in Saint Tropez, Child Bride, Angela. Wow!

Amazon sent me a letter regarding the blu ray version of Hound Dog that I had on back order telling me they were no longer releasing it.

This is why I have just posted that Amazon were no longer releasing the blu ray version of Hound Dog.

All that means for certain is that you can't buy the Bluray version at amazon.com. It doesn't mean for certain that there won't be a bluray version.

Amazon itself was never "releasing" the Bluray version. They are just a store, they were going to to sell it but decided not to. It's Empire Film Group which owns the film and their DVD branch which has released the standard DVD. The DVD is available from many sellers, even though Amazon.com has removed it from their site.

The Empire Film Group hasn't put out an updated press release cancelling the Bluray, the last one said March 3. So we don't know. But as I said, often this sort of delay means it might be cancelled.

Given the headaches with this film I bet it would be at least push back. I wonder if we will see an 'Unrated or Directors cut' :think
