Meet Zoe Thomson. At 8, she is already shredding the guitar. In this video, she is playing "Stratosphere" by Stratovarius, a Finnish power metal band. She is so skilled that many don't believe she is actually playing. But a little more digging revealed that she is every bit as skilled as this video would suggest.
Zoe started playing at the age of 6, and immediately showed a great aptitude for it. She was enrolled in a rock school and formed a band with some of her school mates. All under 10 years old, the aptly named Mini Band is not your average elementary school band. They played a cover of "Enter Sandman" at at festival that was so good, it caught the attention and praise of Metallica. Since then, Zoe has gone on to play for international audiences either alone or as a part of Mini Band.
She is now 11 years old, and has more recognition and credit to her name as a guitarist than millions of other aspiring rockers. But mostly, she is having fun doing what she loves.
Whether or not you like metal, her talent is undeniable. I hope she goes far. What do you think of her?
