Asking here because I am unable to find it anywhere else. I don't know if it fits here. The girls character age in the movies is 16.

In Århus, Denmark, mom's in hospital, pregnant, while dad and 16 y.o.daughter are spending time together painting the baby room. Dad can't accept that his daughter has grown up with interest in guys etc. Instead, he turns to spying on her.

Well, this film certainly looks interesting! I used the Search function and did not find it at FLM. However, it IS at ulozto
[Code] I encourage you or anyone else to go ahead and download this and RELease it on emule before I get around to it, as I have other movies I am planning ahead of it (and low bandwidth, so I don't do many RELeases at once).

This is by Nils Malmros, the same director as the film [REL] Kundskabens trae (1981), which makes it a definite recommendation for me.

Hmmm, Line Arlien-Søborg was born July 25, 1966 and the film was released November 1983. She may have been 16 in the early part of filming but she may be considered past the cutoff age. I'll wait for comments from the members. Downloading it from uloz now - will release it later tonight if someone doesn't beat me to it.

I will have to wait until I see it as to how convincing Line is as 17-playing-16, but as a wise man once said,

"'Children' includes kids up to the age of 16. Many children's roles are played by actors or actresses older than that, but if the characters they play are 16 or younger, that's acceptable."

And surely when Daddy's Little Girl is showing an interest in boys, that counts as "coming of age."

Although I admit that in my school this process began at age 10 for the most advanced kids.

That's why I'm not arbitrarily saying this film is off-topic, I want more than just my opinion.

Ah, so this is a comedy, with a father who desperately needs to be disillusioned about his dear little daughter. Of course it ends in a reconciliation, and the final scene is absolutely perfect.

I noticed some questions being raised in this thread regarding her age at the time of filming. She turned 17 in July of '83, and this was released in November. But if you pay attention to the outdoor environment throughout the movie you'll realize something obvious: it's not summertime (previews below). One of the scenes where she's changing, you can plainly see snow and bare trees out the window behind her. So filming had to have been done the previous winter.

This disc has original Danish audio with subtitles in both Danish and English. It's a fun little movie, and Line of course is lovely. Enjoy!

Looks like this one was recently released in HD. Torrents at rarbg are super well-seeded. Here is a link to all available torrents.

edit: oh and thank for the recommendation, Night. I was somewhat uncertain about this one. Not because of any age concerns. Sometimes, there's so much to choose from that I sometimes arbitrary get picky or I am uncertain.

Thanks for the 1080p links, pillowbaker! 19 months after seeing it, I no longer remember the ending that I considered to be perfection, so I guess it is safe for me to watch it again. (The best endings seem brand new at every viewing?) I was confused when the Rarbg page said "Beauty and the Beast" -- apparently I also forgot the English translation of the Danish title.

Hahah! Yeah I know, I did a double take when I saw the title. I might not have even clicked on the link if there wasn't a girl in the picture and the word "DANISH" in the torrent title. According to google translate, the original title is how you would say it in Danish, and the titles listed on imdb for the film as released in other countries nearly all translate to it as well. Two exceptions are Germany's "Lieber Vater, ich bin sechzehn" (Dear Father, I am Sixteen) and Finland's "Rupikonna" (Toad, maybe it'll make sense after I watch the movie?)

Interesting thing about rarbg, whenever an English title exists for a movie, it is nearly always used! Something I have to think about whenever I search for flm related material. Rarbg has recently had a few relevant releases in the Scandinavian categories. If you use the links in the frame on the left of the main site, you can select "Movies" and it'll auto filter out everything else, it's quite handy!
