I have someone who may be able to sign up for this site. The college is in the list off accepted institutions, anyways. I'll see if this is a possibility.

You can't just rent the movie for watching? Do you really have to buy a 3 years license?

That is a streaming license for a university, right? A professor would be using it to show to her class so everyone can watch it in the auditorium. Considering that USD$175 was sometimes the price of a SINGLE TEXTBOOK DECADES AGO, that is damn cheap. I have no doubt that academia today is even more of a money-making scheme. (Do they still have paper textbooks?) Also, just look at the keywords at Pragda underneath the top picture of the listing. Clearly THEY see the film's importance in its (perceived) politics rather than its value as art or entertainment. Of course that political obsession is a long-established aspect of film studies and film criticism.

Well, it's a bit expensive, but it makes sense since it's for three years, meaning that each year it costs almost $60, but since it's something from this year, whoever pays for it, it's worth it.
