You have just ruined my day. This was the major site that acted as competition for opensubtitles.org, keeping them honest. Who knows what may happen now.

One of the subscene members commenting on the news claims that all the current subscene subtitles are now at https://subdl.com/ It will be interesting to see if that is the case.

The subs business is in decline.

In decline, indeed. I used to use the (half?) automated download feature of SMplayer and Mplayer, where it searched and found subs on Opensubtitles for any film loaded for viewing. Not no more, since a few months now. Who else has problems with this?

I had the same problem with VLC over a year ago, and I quickly stopped trying to see if the capability returned.

Sad news. I don't remember ever using this site (I always found what I was looking for on OpenSubtitles and Addic7ed) but knew it existed. It's still a gigantic loss. I hope its founders won't have too many issues, because such a sudden closure can only mean one thing (...?).

MPC-HC it was very easy to download a sub connected to opensubtitles now it hardly works with BS-player when I watched NYPD-Blue I had to translate all the subtitles, I don't know if nobody wants to upload subs online anymore, the video servers are obsolete.

I confess that the only subtitles I upload are to FLM, not to any other site.

This is indeed sad news, though I must confess I haven't often used the site. It was nice to have them available as an option. This makes me think I really should start uploading my own subs to somewhere out there.
