So after watching Sting (2024) (link: viewtopic.php?t=15491)
I thought to myself: "Where else can I see more of this lovely little actress?"
So I found this little gem. Now don't hold out too much hope for the movie itself, it falls squarely into the
wholesome family movie territory. But Alyla Browne was a joy to behold! Unlike in Sting where she was a
moody tween, here she's just the sweetest thing! And the movie does get bittersweet at the end.
summary:
Join Peter and Verity on a magical journey, as they embark on a quest to unite five
mystical treasures to defeat an ancient enemy - the evil Shroud, and save an enchanted land in this
thrilling fantasy adventure fit for the whole family!
I personally watched the first one. The second file is larger but I haven't verified it.
Enjoy!

I got this from YTS a couple weeks ago and just sat down to watch it today. Enjoyed it for what it was (as Jacen said a 'wholesome family movie...') and I too was entranced by the character of Verity, played by Alyla Browne.
It wasn't until I got here that I discovered that she was also 'Charlotte' in the recent creature feature 'Sting', also posted here at FLM.
Thanks Jacen for bringing this movie to FLM, in all it's bittersweetness..
(Seriously; this 'Spoiler' is for Jacen and ONLY other members who HAVE seen this movie.. )
Spoiler:
'The Sixth Sense' vibes on the big reveal, right?
It actually was a 'gotcha' moment for me, totally outta left field, but upon realization it made perfect, um, sense..
Fun movie, but annoying in that it HAD to fill all the stereotypical 'Fantasy, SciFy' tropes of *cryptic rhymes/riddles to recover treasures; *a royal character, unaware of their royalty; *talking animals; and my LEAST favorite, *wise seer character that speaks in weird, broken, almost baby-talk English.
(The only redeeming [yes, REDEEMING] quality of the 'Luminere', at least for me, was that he was so damn CREEPY looking. Creepy, creepy, CREEPY! I'm pretty sure the filmmakers were going for 'Cute 'n' Cuddly', but I just saw 'Creepy'..
Iiiii LOVED it! [That aspect of the stereotypical 'Seer' character, at least..] )
Well worth a watch if you're tuned for some wholesome family entertainment.
kev.

Glad you liked it Kev!

That's the whole reason I found this movie, I saw her in Sting and wanted more.
She's also in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
I saw it in theaters recently and she was great in it. She had substantial screen time and
the movie itself is great. A big recommend!
