More questions Im afraid!!

Well I could write a book on your questions so I will try touch on the major ones. First unless you sit behind a corporate or school firewall/router odds are that not all ports are blocked. Its is how ever not un common for ISP's to block or limit traffic on common PSP, IRC and FTP ports.
To get around this you can try changing the ports that eMule uses while you can just set it to port 80 I have no idea what this might do to your regular HTTP (internet) traffic. first try setting your TCP port (Menu->Options->Connection) to 15000 and your UDP to 15001. If that does not change anything try disabling UDP and change your TCP to 8080 (used for secure HTTP and should be open).
That brings me to the topic of Low and High ID's. There is no option to pick one. If eMule can't connect to a server using TCP and Kad (UDP) you will get a low ID. Also using the build in proxy setting will also give you a Low ID.
There are way around most of the common methods of blocking. But they get more complex. If you have to use a proxy I recommend looking into a program called "proxy cap". Great little program that can handle multi proxy tunnels.
Before I can really help I need to know a few things.
1. Can you connect to the servers at all?
2. Is Kad connecting?
3. Have you configured zone alarm for eMule?
4. Do you have the windows firewall running as well?
5. Are you using any sort of a networking router?
6. Are you using cable or DSL?
Another interesting note. It is possible to run eMule on telnet and tunnel using SSH via a loopback. It's a real pain to config but I did get to work for regular eMule. I have not figured out how to make it work for Kad yet thou.
