Vladimir plays Alexei Varakin, a musician in a Moscow restaurant. He misses his daughter Anna, who now lives in San Fransisco with his ex-wife and her wealthy American husband. Alexei travels to the United States to kidnap Anna and take her back to Russia. The pair travel around the States, having many adventures en route. On their way back to Russia, they are arrested; Alexei is imprisoned for trespassing and kidnapping. Anna rescues him by flying into the prison in a helicopter, which she lands in the prison yard.
American Daughter has been described as “a melodrama for Russian men, geared to their anxieties and hurt pride. Its ending represents a threefold triumph — emotional, social and patriotic. The Russian father wins his daughter over her mother, her social status, and affluent America — the last being his sweetest triumph.
The film allows Vladimir to display his musical and vocal skills, accompanying himself on the guitar as he sings a Russian folk song, then croons “Love Me Tender.
DVD Rip now available...

Many thanks to Rich for turning me on to this movie. Looks like something I'll enjoy!
I found a 1080p option at uloz, runtime 1:33
https://ulozto.net/file/lXf30ltMPHtp/am ... ru-tit-mkv
imdb states the runtime is 1:38, though this is likely an FPS matter, I'd imagine.
There are some torrents on rarbg also, though seeders look limited. I'm trying out one of the 1080p options now, will let you know what happens.

Unfortunaltly this file has this annoying Russian voice-over dubbing.
I replaced the audio track:

English subtitles for the Russian spoken parts:

Thanks for the upgrade, ghost! Sorry about the Russian over-dubbing. I suppose it's for the parts of the movie that are in English? I'll check it out before deleting the uloz file.
These recommendations from Rich look really promising. Hope I can make some time during my weekend!
