There is a small piece of software rarely spoken about called "Digiguide" that shows you TV listings for the next few weeks in advance.
You pay a cheap yearly fee to use the software and they keep the listings updated.

It covers every cable and satellite channel available in the UK (and EU I guess if you can pickup sat signal).

The main idea, besides a tv-guide, is that you never miss an aired program you wanted to see for the rest of your life.
You do this by adding your favourite shows you want to it, and it can tell you when they are next on with popup and stuff, I think the new version can even send you an SMS to your cellphone. (with a fee, no doubt)
You can also make it tell you when any program with a description matching your "keywords" pops up, (Eg, "funfair" or "britney spears"), also you can refine your flags by type, like film, sport or drama etc...

It's been running for some years now, and though I havn't done too much research I havn't heard of any other software offering such features for the rest of the worlds tv channels. If somebody knows of something similar to this please let us know.

I like the idea of that!

I have had it for a couple of years and I don't think I could live without it now days.

A year or so ago I was looking for such a thing for the US, never found one and noone I asked knew of a good one, and I could build it myself but it didn't matter quite enough to me with everything else going on.

The key to me would be the ability to use keywords rather than just specific program names, I have such a service for Usenet and it is a lifesaver.
