VideoLAN to go...

The actual version of the VLC-player to go. For all members catching a virus by just switching their computer "ON".
Just unrar on a USB - Stick, install it there and enjoy. You can use it for eMule previews, of course. No system installation, no "calling home" etc. (remember Debasers trouble with RealMediaPlayer? lol) Just the pure beef. You need USB 2 or a lot of time...
Merry christmas!

Sorry, I don't understand... what's the problem with VLC? Why we need this "portable" version to put on a USB stick instead of a normal installation?

I don't say that there is anything wrong with VLC 0.9.8. On the other hand, you never know where people actually download these open source proggies, and for some it might be better to keep their version away from their OS... lol

We download it from the web site of the proggie, of course.
The portable versions might be useful in cases where you need administrative rights to install a program, e.g. in offices etc. where the systems administrator has restricted users from doing so.

Portable software is a Good Thing. It doesn't have to be "installed" and it doesn't screw with what's already on the computer. There are several media players that are portable. You might also try Kang Media Player (KMP) - it's loaded with features. Do a Google search for Portable Software and you'll find lots of great stuff, much of it free.
