Can anyone recommend software for hard-coding subs?

If you want to do it for watching on a stand alone DVD player, most DVD authoring packages have provision for including subs.
If you're a bit of a nerd, use GraphEdit and render to file instead of to the display.
I can think of no other valid reason for hardcoding subs.

You'd better make damn sure that your subs are correct - once they are hard coded you're stuck with them.

Oh. well, I posted this before I text images in photoshop for The Disney Effect vid. But I have other uses for this now.

For .srt, I use TextSub 2.23
