Collections

i know many of us have been collectors for many years. one of many things i love about this site is just when i think i have a complete series someone posts a show or movie i haven't seen or knew about. that lead me to an idea i have been thinking about for a while. first off i want to say i don't want to add to the tasks that the administrators (mods) have to do. but a little work over time will pay off i think.
my idea is to add a collection section. now i know this whole site is a collection but i am thinking more specific to certain themes or actress such as dakota fanning or jodie foster, pippi series, heidi, little princess, etc...or just a series like american girl, sequels and so on.
we already have most movies or tv show here, but they are scattered about the site. that leads to what i am getting at. not only could we see what we are missing easier but also it would be easier for one to fill a gap or contribute something we didn't know about. to keep it simple and not over whelming i suggest making one post a week or month depending how big the collection.
this just an idea. a direction i would like to see. that being said i like the site the way it is but because of work and other commitments searching the whole site is very time consuming. i thought a little extra organizing over time would help complete collections.

any thoughts on this would be appreciated and welcome from all.

Good idea - could get organized as an actress filmography as example

i have various collections that may or may not be complete. this is partly why i have started this thread. i have many popular such as all astrid lindgren dvds, pippi except first movie from forties and many, many actresses, such as jodie foster, dakota, elle fanning, etc..

i have seen threads started here that will list several movies in one post. such as the saddle club. advantage being it is all in one place. another advantage is someone can easily add something either better quality or something missing. helping fill our collections.

i feel this site is already the best of its kind. i only wish to add to the quality and experience by making it easier and better for not only us that have been collecting for years but are just starting out. i know that there are thousands of leachers here already. some of which would like to participate but haven't because of nothing to give. this might open the door for some and fine tune what we have for the advanced.

i have many movies that would probably belong here, but because of the time it takes to search out the site to avoid a repost. i have been slow to post. or movies from a country such as russia i don't have much info on but would definitely fit here. i currently belong to several forums that i either contribute when i can or help moderate, of which is contributing, just not as fun (more of another job). i wish to be more active here if possible. just looking for a more direct way to do so.

any opinion would be appreciated. bettering ones time here is and can only be a good thing. i would hope to at least start a discussion on this idea of collecting.

The use of "collections" can be a nice addition to FLM. Several ed2k-sites have special sections for such... This way it can also be used for making collections based on thematics as well as actresses or what ever "theme" you want...
