FirstLoveMovies

loverboy, one of our most prolific releasers, has just announced he's on holiday through next weekend and will be off the net. So, just for fun, as an experiment, and since things are a bit slow, I just un-shared everything except all the loverboy rips/re-encodes/edits I have downloaded.

That's 107 files, 65GB! Since 2007. Only files tagged "loverboy", not all his other releases of someone else's material (most of which are likely still out there too, but are not part of this festival.) I am sure I didn't get all of his releases, but most of them are certainly here.

So for the next week I will keep these files shared and will crank up my upload speed so that anyone who has previously missed these can grab them pretty quickly (depending in part on how many non-FLMers also unknowingly take advantage of this). The only other things I will also share are any new releases of my own and my downloads. I am not sure how this will go, if it works out well I may do it again with other releasers.

Need a bigger HDD I think.

An update and bump roughly mid-way...

I have uploaded over 75GB worth of loverboy files so far since I started this. That's roughly 260KB/sec, just for these files (I am subtracting out the bandwidth for other files I am downloading/sharing my total bandwidth).

This has significantly eaten into the demand, so my queue keeps getting smaller. If you want more of these you still have time to get them. If you don't appear to have a friend slot from me you can msg me on emule or pm me here and I'll give you one.

Also, I included only files tagged "loverboy", because I had no easy way to include his other releases other than checking threads one-by-one. If there are others which could use a reshare you can request them here or via pm or emule msg and if I have them I will reshare.

About a week and 140GB of uploads later, I have unshared most of the listed files. My queue plus active downloaders dwindled to less than 15 at the end, as people got the files they wanted. This was fun, I will probably do it again with someone else's releases sometime.

That was a great idea - was connected too for a while. Thank you for your effort.

My original intent was to have another one early this year featuring Aliptes' works, but events and technical issues intervened.
Another thought I had was for a festival of short films posted here. Hopefully I can do something, but it's not on my schedule presently.
