Help with my University choice please!

Hello I am migrating to Australia in August 2010 and I will hopefully be starting university in the January.
I was just wondering if anyone (experience or not) could help me in my choice.
I have visited some of the websites and they all seem good, but someone that lives near or has friends their will know much better what the people and life and study's are like.
Please help.
Thank you.

Welcome to the forum, kamrienlorry.

Interesting first post.
As you have probably guessed by now, this is a site where we talk about rare movies that have cute kids in them. Not the best site to ask questions like these. We don't have a lot of members from that part of the world, and the likelihood of finding some that have the information you are looking for are slim to none.
Suggest you post this question at a more pertinent site, or just Google; I'm sure there are others who would have asked for the same information.
Admins: please move to general section.

I usually let things like this slide, but since you are a student looking to enter a university, it would be a good idea to figure out the difference between
study's and
studies.

Just a thought, kid. No offence intended.

Sadly, this is completely typical.

I hope the admission standards are loose enough to admit someone "that" doesn't live near "their". Kamrienlorrry (and I mean this in the nicest way), I advise you to use a spelling and grammar checker on your admissions forms. You can be less-than-correct on a web forum but those admissions forms are like a job application and could affect your chances.

I don't care about grammar on a web forum, unless it is a forum about English linguistics. Some grammatic mistakes are even disputable, there are differences between British and American English, etc.
I had good grades in English, but I know I make a lot of mistakes, even obvious ones like in OP, particularly when I am tired. Sometimes I notice after posting and I edit my post.
BTW, my English teacher said that mixing British and American English leaves an impression of one being a particularly uneducated person.

LOL - I fear your English teacher would get a lot of problems understanding most people in London, except they are staff of BBC.

Uni's don’t give much of a shit about grammar in the UK, its all about how much money they can get out of the student or the loan company.
If you are an international student you have a far better chance of getting into uni because you will be paying 4x the fees of a home student.
During the final days of clearing universities will inform home based applicants that they have no more places left while at the same time informing international applicants (many of whom don’t even speak the language yet) that they still have plenty of places left.
So, if the Aussies have a system like ours and you have plenty of money, you should be fine
