AVI to DVDVideo

I have used many different AVI to DVDVideo converters. The best so far being DVD Flick.

I have had two issues with all of the converters though.

1. A very slight start-stop-motion that is only really noticeable when the camera is panning (this I can live with).

2. More often than not the picture will start freezing near the end of the feature (very frustrating).

Is there anything I can do to prepare movie files before I start the DVD software so that I don’t get any glitches?
