Christmas favorites

Post by mimzy »   1 likes

I like Christmas movies that are bizarre or at least a bit different than typical Anglo-American and Scandinavian ones.

Top 4 favorites:

[REL] Abeltje (1998)
[REL] Le Martien de Noël - (1971)
[REL] Novogodnie priklyucheniya Mashi i Viti 1975
[REL] Y aura-t-il de la neige à Noël? (1996)

Which movies do you like? Any other recommendations?

My favorite is
[REL] Absalons Hemmelighed (2006)
https://www.first-loves.com/forums/v ... t=absalons
(I couldn't figure out how to do a link to the film like mimzy did - so I did it this way)

I watched the entire series twice in Danish without subtitles before For an Angel translated the series into English subtitles. I have yet to watch the series with the subtitles. I own the set on DVD and found with a little messing around that I can use the subtitles while watching the DVD. I usually watch the series over the 24 days before Christmas. Absalons Hemmelighed is what is referred to as a "Julekalender" in Denmark. Directly translated it means Christmas calender. It is a series in 24 episodes that was viewed every day at the same time from December 1st to December 24th on Danish Television. I will watch it this year with the subtitles. THANKS For an Angel!!!

I think I know who your favorite child actress is ;)

"Absalons Hemmelighed" is a good series and this reminds me that we have one more Danish "Julekalender" -- [REL] Jul i Valhal 2005 (Series). It is no longer shared, but I heard that someone is working on a new rip.

LoL, thanks for the free promotion :P
I think I'm going to do the same thing and watch it one episode a day until Christmas. Starting today!
I saw Booky & the Secret Santa (that's booky that rhymes with spooky, not cookie :D ) just a couple days ago that I thought it was very very good. Very heartwarming and sweet. And Emilia McCarthy, the blonde girl who play the friend Laura, was almost impossibly cute :heart
