Hi everyone !
I read everyday the new messages from the board. I'm not the kind of guy to enjoy conflicts, so I was just thinking of something, and decided to share it with you :
Why not create, for the [REL] and the [REQ] sections, a new sub-section, as for the shorts, mixing every country, where we could put any movie which happens to be "off-topic" because the screen-time with children is too small, though the OT scenes may still be interesting ?
I mean, some movies have scenes featuring children but nothing else like "oh, there is a child at the background" and these should only go the the graveyard, yet should definitely just be ignored, but I can remember some very nice scenes from movies, without any interest for the rest of the movie... I'm not sure I explain my thoughts very well, but you guys are clever, I bet you'll see my point.

Before any harsh criticism shows up, I just want to insist on the point that it is just an IDEA, not a REQ
I'm only trying to avoid very long messages exchanges for rather... nothing

I think you are allowed to post directly in the verified off topic section.

We already have the Verified Off-Topic section. FLM is oriented towards children in films and if we wanted to be more strict we wouldn't allow anything off-topic. Instead, we put those in V.O.T. in order to avoid losing links to films people might still want to watch. Posting an off-topic film that has a scene of interest isn't forbidden if that info is clearly posted - an admin can move it to V.O.T. later.

We don't want to encourage off-topic films or that's all we'd have. We also don't want clips or cut scenes because those are almost always the nude scenes. That skirts perilously close to CP because the intent of a nude scene in the middle of a film is enhancement of the story while the intent of a clip IS the child nudity.

You can add to threads but you can't create them in Verified Off-Topic.

Hey Reasta! Many thanks for your contributions in the short time you've been here, and your ideas for improving FLM.

Though maybe not it's original purpose, what you are suggesting is what I use the 'Verified Off-Topic' [ https://www.first-loves.com/forums/v ... .php?f=129 ] forum for. I've already released a couple of movies directly to that forum that I knew were not really FLM material, but featured appearances of famous child actresses or short scenes of cute children.

On the whole the forum is for movies that our members discover that at first seem to be of interest because what little information they found indicated that there were children in the cast BUT later turn out to NOT be of interest due to the 'children' being actors over the age of 15 or the children having absolutely minimal screen-time while the movie itself has nothing to do with 'Coming-of-Age'.

Yikes!! I guess admin DOES have it's perks... I didn't realize members couldn't start a thread in the VO-T forum...

Not a problem, we can always move things from where they originated to VO-T if needed. We talked about allowing users to create new threads there but decided we might get overrun with lots of really off-topic films. If we let lots of non-childhood films in, we'd turn into just another adult film blog.

OK everyone, my apologies. I don't pay very much attention to the "off-topic" section, and I guess it's been clear for any of you, thanks to my message... So just forget about that. What I had in mind was *maybe* a specific section for what I would call the "must-see" scenes, the cult ones, see ? But I did not make my idea clear... and most of all, the "off-topic" section can be enough for this !
Hope none of you get mad at me. I know I am a very low contributor, but I'm doing what I can to bring interesting things...
