It took Olga Sinyayeva 4 long years to produce this documentary that was filmed in different Russian childcare institutions. She got the idea and started to film soon after she had adopted a child from an orphanage. This was the time when Russia started to pass laws that started to destroy the foster care system and passed the notorious Dima Yakovlev Law, which bans US citizens from adopting Russian children.
