Me too. When I FIRST searched at FLM for it I searched using the title number from the "alternate" IMDB listing that was the one I had discovered, referencing the original 8-part version. I did not find it here so I thought it was a new discovery. I also searched at TheNextThing and found nothing. After I had composed my much longer and more complete FLM post in a text editor, THEN I thought to check FLM by searching the actual title. Oh shock, ghost had already posted it years ago! That meant a drastic slash to my post to remove what had already been said (and some of my usual nattering on besides). After posting at FLM I thought to recheck TNT with multiple search techniques but I did NOT magically find a full set of translated subtitles. I had also checked Blizzardkid in the hopes of finding an ancient VHSrip of the original 8-part version. I only found SD 4-part that had been on Ulozto. It might be the same as ghost's original Release, I did not look closely.
Would you like assistance emuling it?
Anyone who wants to eMule it is certainly welcome to do so but I do not plan to do so myself unless someone wants it and REALLY can not get it by MEGA. But they have to speak up! I came to realize that I was RELeasing FAR too many television series which were taking up large amounts of my active drive space, and I felt "obligated" to continue sharing them as the only source. There are a few series that continue to get reshare requests at FLM so I finally stopped temporarily clearing them from my onboard drive, BUT I STILL HAVE NOT WATCHED THEM so I do not even know if I would like them or care about them! I can legitimately remain faithful to something like Astrid Lindgren even if no one is downloading the files. This one I watched and enjoyed, but I had already decided to STOP EMULING ANY MORE TV SERIES. I also reached the same conclusion about multiple unwatched sequels to a worthy original. Nope, won't do it.

I wondered the same thing. I thought maybe the 25 minute runtime at IMDB was an estimate, much like movies that only have VHS sources are said to have the suspiciously round runtime of 90 minutes. Not 87 minutes or 93 minutes!
(which may include OT scenes, although being edited in 1971 only two years later I'd tend to think anything in the original would still pass muster)
Same thinking! Lars "VON" Trier managed to be a
provocateur and
enfant terrible as an adult, but that was mostly for easily scandalized Cannes audiences. (Celebrities and pretentious intellectuals, a group combination who like to pretend to be shocked apparently as a lifestyle choice.) Based on other Danish series and movies the Danes did not seem easily disturbed or offended back in the 1970s by what should have been merely mainstream entertainment for the time, so there should have been nothing that "needed" to be cut. Based on the actual viewable content it did not seem as if there was even a missing skinnydipping idyll, which also would not have bothered anyone. People TODAY around the world have gone bonkers but there is no helping them.
Does anyone actually have a copy of the 8 episode version? I've never seen it anywhere.
I have wondered if maybe the original was completely destroyed when they did the re-edit, and that the only way to have the original is for someone to have preserved it on commercial magnetic tape back in 1969!
