Mi-sseu-baek AKA: Miss Baek (2018)

Synopsis:

A woman's past as a convict follows her everywhere and because of this she doesn't open up to others. But then she strikes up a friendship with a broken child who has suffered from domestic violence and decides to save the girl from the cruel world. A man who holds feelings for the woman, tries to protect her in his own way.

I just finished watching this a little while ago.. It's a beautiful, if not slightly melodramatic [I mean, it's Korean for pete's sake... ] story of a woman coming to terms with her own abusive past while taking an abused child under her broken wings.. The young actress, So-hyun Kwon, that plays Joo Mi-kyeong, did an amazing job tugging my heartstrings in the short amount of time she was onscreen.. Don't get me wrong, she's in 75 - 80% of the movie, I just loved her so much I wanted to see more screentime...
