I found some torrents, but with an annoying advertising and logo in the picture. :(

I found this movie here to rent: https://www.pathe-thuis.nl/film/25211/annas-war

It's strange, but this really seems to be the only source at all!
So I paid 5 Euros and ripped it in Full HD from this site.

Unfortunately it has dutch hardcoded subtitles.
Somehow I found a way to remove them nearly completely and replaced them with selfmade english subs.

So here is the result, which looks pretty good:

How it is compared to some other movies with same topic?
Do we see something unexpected there?

Thank you SO much for this, ghost! What a terrific film. I was devastated even while admiring the resilience of the girl. I have a terrible feeling this one will haunt me for some time.

I have a question for those who have seen it: Around the 57-58 minute mark, what is the large round canister that the young Russian (Ukrainian?) ...
Spoiler:

temporarily hands to the girl in the chimney when he takes her gun?
It looks like it could be a landmine, but I am unclear why he is carrying it and why ...
Spoiler:

he has her hold it. If it is a threat to keep quiet, it is a threat just as much to himself.
Does anyone understand this and have some enlightenment for me?

Well, I certainly think it is a powerfully moving film. If you have seen something like FLM: Forbidden Games or the anime Grave of the Fireflies or the live action of the same FLM:Hotaru no haka, then I don't think there is anything particularly unexpected, other than the extraordinary will to survive of the heroine. War is terrible, and this depicts in a very personal way the trauma it causes to a child.

As for the visuals, the various pictures in the post give a very clear idea of the limits to which the film goes. There is not anything more shocking than what you see in the pics. Perhaps you are looking for something more like FLM: The Last Butterfly.

Highly recommended if you if you don't mind being depressed. The resolution is open-ended with some small sense of hope, assuming one is aware of the end of WWII. (The Nazis lost.) If you are looking for a warm and sunny childhood film like FLM: Du är inte klok, Madicken (not a war film, I know), this ain't it.

Hope this helps, while being careful to avoid major spoilers.
