Thank you for this, art195!
This was mesmerizing. I confess I do not understand the mysterious conclusion.

I have to agree. I thought I mostly knew what was going on until the last scene in the pool. Now I only know that I have no clue.

Yes, that is exactly where I became unsure. Without giving away any spoilers, I can certainly imagine some rather mundane explanations ... but I don't think that is what was intended for the audience to think. I would like to watch this on a bigger screen. (I watched it on my li'l laptop.)

What a beautifully atmospheric short! But 2 things I don't like
- the ending makes no sense
- and the release is 105mb for 720p and nearly 20minutes!! The file is about a third the size it should be for this resolution and length. The mpeg blocking in some scenese is quite apparent. The still forest scenes look fine - but there's a lot of "block creep" when you have something like someone's clothing moving. Maybe someone can find a HD version at a decent bitrate?

So I ran it through Topaz deblock filter and it removed 90% of the unsightly blocking - added a slight grain and that helped to - I didn't resize it to, left it at 720p:
