I found this movie on Amazon Prime Video Japan. It's really a cute movie.

I couldn't find any information on IMDB. All I could find, was written in Japanese letters, so I guess this film never left Japan.

Mea Hoshizawa, a sixth grader living in Kawane Honmachi, Shizuoka Prefecture, is asked to take care of her cousin Koto Yuuno for a week. Coming from Tokyo, she had a hard time adjusting to life in the countryside, but through contact with nature, the warmth of the Hoshizawa family, and Mea's friend Yozora Hilltop, she gradually opens her heart.... CDJapan.co.jp says it is an "Original Video" production (AKA "direct to video") so you are right that such a movie rarely makes it outside Japan. Some of the ones that *I* have seen are among my favorite movies, so that is no disparagement of quality.
