Some members might be concerned about the AGES of the actresses. They are older than their characters, but NOT as old as might be thought from the film release date. Before anyone says otherwise, I call this film ON-TOPIC. It probably is too extreme in its horror for many to be interested regardless. There is no obligation to watch it!
First, the characters:
Megan Stewart, 14, and her best friend Amy Herman, 13
The IMDB bio for actress Rachel Quinn (birth date unknown) says
Her first professional acting experience was in 2006 when she was cast as the ill-fated teenager Megan Stewart in acclaimed cinematographer Michael Goi's controversial directorial debut Megan Is Missing (2011). Filmed over the course of a week, the film wasn't released until May 2011.
So the actresses were 5 years YOUNGER than would be expected from the movie release date.
IMDB also says:
Trivia
In order to be fully aware of their participation in the movie and graphic content, the parents of the young cast were asked to be on set during shooting.
So clearly the actresses were minors not adults, including Rachel Quinn.
For the actress playing Amy Herman, IMDB says:
Amber Perkins was born on 10 April 1989
So during filming in 2006 she was 16 or 17.
One of the IMDB reviewers says "But 22 year old actresses just don't (can't) look 13." Well, the actresses were apparently NOT 22 when it was filmed, they were a reasonable 16-17. Whether they are believable as 13-14, I leave entirely up to interested viewers. If they were actually 22 I would say NO, but 16-17 is close enough in my mind for the characters. Still, this is fair warning for those looking for younger actresses.
Thank you Dave for bringing this for fans of "found footage horror".
