Young girl Grace staying at her Nanna's with her older brother gets a visit from something strange. It tries to lure her. She shies away, but will that stop it?
Next round of spooky shorts I discovered. With blanket forts. I love blanket forts! This short creates quite the unsettling atmosphere and the makeup effects are pretty good. Little Grace performs great in this short and has 100% screen time, she's adorable. It actually had me a little scared, just for a bit. To keep this from getting too long, I'll put my thoughts into another post.
I have to admit that at first glance I misread the vowel in the word "forts" so that I thought for a moment that this would be a comedy instead of spooky horror. I need new glasses.

Ahhh yes, the good ol' Dutch oven version of the blanket fort. I will admit, I may make those more often than the traditional blanket forts.
I figure this style of "Bloody Disgusting" could be more prevalent in mature-rated films featuring children, but I can't recall coming across any! Such a shame.
This reminds me, Night. Later on, I got something for you. Fort-related.

Overall, I thought this was a fun one. I almost considered not sharing it at first. After watching it again a day later, it kinda grew on a me a bit. The acting was good enough, the creep factor was there, and I though Grace had great expressions AND was endearing.
But! (some thoughts and impressions)
Spoiler:
What initially gave me second thoughts was the ending. Definitely one that I was not expecting, which I totally appreciate. But this is a case of our main ghost boy just being an ABSOLUTE DICK. What a damn ASSHOLE. Now, I can understand possessions and haunted abductions where victims disappear for years, and maybe some serious traumatic encounters from vengeful ghouls that are worse. I can even understand the bloodthirsty fright night creatures that just straight up rip everyone up. But look at what he made her do! Yeah, he just wanted her to "let him play", and yes, she had inhibitions about doing so. But it wasn't like she spat in his face. She even listened to him, for a little bit. He knew Grace wanted Nanna and her brother to listen more to her, and maybe he was just following through with his offer, but he had to know it was a tad vindictive. DIckhead ghoul boy. They made him look cool, though!
I definitely wanted to see more exploration of that closet dimension. That stuff is rad.
