English translation of title: "Let my cymbals resound to heaven! A story of a class in a hospital"

Welcome to FLM!

We need posts to be in English, so we need more information than just the original Japanese movie title.

I found this movie site and translated from it to English:
http://www.tvdrama-db.com/drama_info/p/id-33199
tvdrama-db, translated wrote:This is a story about the emotional connection between a new teacher and his students in a class in a hospital. Takeshi (Hagiwara Masato), a teacher who committed a violent crime, is assigned to an elementary school in the suburbs of Tokyo. He is assigned to take charge of the class in the hospital under the guidance of a senior teacher, Yukie (Sawaguchi Yasuko). Takeshi suggests that Yota (Mizoguchi Yuto), who was too sick to go on a school trip, go on a field trip just for the two of them near the hospital.

@Night457 Thank you, I did not write English names because there was no one.

I was afraid of that. It is just that in an international forum, English is the most common language so that is what we use. If all the information in the post is in Japanese writing, then it will just be ignored by everyone who can not read Japanese. I added as much information as I found, beyond just the actual Japanese title.

Yes, I agree with that, it is always better to add more information and accessability.

But for these films without "official" English titles, whether we search or talk about them, we can only use the original title, whether it is Japanese or other languages we can't read/understand.

Unless we have a ref number like IMDB, that permanent mapping will bring some help.

What I am worried about is that more "unofficial" translations will eventually make people more difficult to find specific films with more troubles, because you need to try too many different names.

You have convinced me that a Google Translate title is not acceptable! For now, I have changed it back. Yes we do also need an actual movie site that lists it. IMDB does not have eveything, but Amazon is just a commerce site. I approved a post that had all Japanese characters and that just will not do. We needed more information.

The standard here is the Latin alphabet and other alphabets can be used to make it absolutely accurate. Russian movies without official English titles will have their titles printed in the Latin alphabet and the original Cyrillic included for search purposes. Example: Кукольник / Kukolnik (2023).

I made a Kanji to Romaji conversion of this title and was given
Tengoku made hibike boku no shimbaru! Byōin nai gakkyū monogatari
Are you able to verify that is correct?

Yes, but at least in fact it provides a huge "database" and records a permanently associated number for each item. It is not the only gold standard, but it does provide help since it is widely known.

For example, there is a non-commercial substitute, but it is not so well-known: https://www.themoviedb.org/

I tried to do this, but I can’t, there are few information about some old Japanese works.

Russian has relatively simple relationships with English, but Japanese and Roman sounds are not so absolute.

This is also the case, I won't say which one is absolutely accurate:
Tengoku made hibi ke boku no sinbaru! Byouin nai gakkyuu monogatari
For this specific case, because its title is too "long", I think that using the original Japanese title is actually a better choice.
Because it is actually more likely to provide supplementary information and resources, it may be largely Japanese.
If people in other countries can provide it, as I said, they must also use the original Japanese title to index.

I think the alternatives is provides an English translation in post content, which is convenient for English readers to understand without extra translation tools.

On the other hand, I think we cannot always quote other websites. With the disappearance of some Internet information, here may become the only place where some information is retained. This is why I posted it here and encouraged people with related resources to supplement and publish.

TMDB is a good substitute when it has an entry and IMDB does not.
I have seen how many different ways Japanese gets transliterated, and what was accepted in the 1960s is very different now.
Thank you for updating your first post with additional information.
