The year is 1951. At a crumbling manor house outside a picturesque British village, where the de Luce family has resided for 500 years, a dead body lies in the cucumber patch. Flavia de Luce, a brilliant eleven-year-old chemist whose specialty is poisons, stumbles upon the body in the middle of the night and discovers her true calling: sleuth. Flavia is determined to figure out how the dead body got that way. But when her father Havilland confesses to the murder, she must turn every trick in the detective manual to save him, keeping two steps ahead of the local constabulary, and one step ahead of the actual murderer, who now has an eye on her. Little does Flavia know that her intrepid investigating to free her remote, enigmatic father will unveil his deepest secrets, and lead to truths about her deceased mother Harriet, a spy, in whose footsteps Flavia is destined to follow.
I hope it turns out as a TV Series, but... I don't know. It seems unlikely that it will become a series. :)

It will be updated when it is clear whether it is a movie or a series. Or the date... :blush

Sorry but... I just feel like the release date is getting closer. There is also a frame from the movie. We'll look and see. Will I be proven right? :mrgreen:

Sorry...
Thank you, thank you, thank you Unigami, for bringing this title to our attention. :heart

It appears this production is based on the Flavia de Luce mystery novels by Alan Bradley of which (at the the time of my writing this) there are 11 books in the series. In the first book it is established that Flavia is 11 years old. At some point during the course of the series she turns 12 and she is that age in the 11th book.

So VERY cool! She only ages a year in the course of the series.. Since there are 11 books worth of material available, it's quite possible that the could turn this into a mini-series or even a regular series (like Home before Dark (2020)-(2021) starring Brooklynn Prince ), if we're lucky! (I hope we're lucky!!) :heart :heart

Thanks again Unigami for letting us know about this. I have Amazon Audible and found all 11 books there. The first 3 were on sale for under $5.00 USD each. After listening to a preview, I decide to get all three! I can't wait to start listening and dive into the crime-ridden world of Flavia de Luce. :heart (Hopefully, at some point, the other 8 will go on sale; if not, well how much i enjoy the first 3 will determine if I continue.. :think :P )

kev.

Look! I'm really happy about that, Kev.

I'm eagerly awaiting the movie/series. As you said;

I hope we're lucky too. I hope. :mrgreen:

Actually, I'm the one who should be thanking you. Because since I discovered this site, I've been able to find so many movies, TV series, and even animations. Thanks. :drool

I'll still be forever disappointed that we never got a season 3 of Home Before Dark

Definitely a million times agree

I still wonder to this day why they kept the name Hilde but changed Lysiak to Lisko but heh

I just looked at your post in the Home Before Dark thread, and it is clear to me now. They changed the name from the real life inspiration because the series is fiction, not a biography. No one needs to complain "that was not what really happened" because that is not the point of the series.
