In Italy, a group of American schoolboys, roughly eight to fifteen years of age, sign up for a play, then, for reasons never fully explained, find themselves roaming a beach, there questioning cultural mores. This rather odd film is said to be "a dream-like descent from civilization into chaos reminiscent of Lord of The Flies," but add a 70's atmosphere and philosophy if you want a better understanding of what is to here be found. An interesting little film, but not much of a plot to be found. Perhaps best appreciated by the few remaining hippies (check out that VW Van!) or devote naturists.

This non-narrative film has a theme: the unity of mankind. Young men from all nations are gathered for a play by a priest in Rome. They gather in the city, play and philosophize. Later, they go to the seaside, play and philosophize. The film has a generous supply of images of the bare backsides of the disporting youths. The movie's narration is similarly philosophical.
