30 minutes of Hell. Bleak surrealism, savage beauty, lush grotesquerie. Divided into Zero wanders through the cluttered closets and shrieking minds of child killers and schizophrenic priests and blood fetishists, unflinching moments of agony and panic flooding in and out of focus like the last confused thoughts of the dying. This limbonic art has no use for linear narrative, although some kind of clockwork inner logic may exist deep inside its montage of bullying imagery. A young girl sells either lemonade or piss to Albert Fish or perhaps just one of his doppelgangers, and is dragged off to some dungeon where she cowers in a corner, her mouth covered in blood and madness in her eyes; two lovers discover a new intimacy through razorblades and urine; a young boy smokes and slices his arms to ribbons and contemplates his father's brutal vehicular death; a monster sleeps, fitful and incontinent. And in the end, smoke and mirrors, and a cloying nausea. Davis is no mere filmmaker, he's an aesthetic terrorist, and Divided into Zero is not just a film, it's an act of defiance. With no allegiance to any current schools of thought or genre conventions, he has created a brutal masterpiece of stark, raving hallucinatory madness. The soundtrack is equally effective; a jarring, teeth rattling barrage of jet streams, modulated screaming, and droning synths that recalls Coffin Joe at his darkest. Divided into Zero is such an overwhelming visceral experience that it even defies my usual flippancy. See it for yourself, but be prepared for the tiny scars that it leaves when it's through.

The kids are not cute if that is what a film has to do to be on topic, but it is a short 30min film that wont have been seen by many people here and it covers a very dark subject involving children.

Needless to say it will upset some, but people can choose to download or not download this title.
