Il Cielo cade AKA The Sky Will Fall AKA The Sky is Falling (2000)

The film made the point that it was possible for a Jewish family to live in wartime Italy in the idyllic country scene, where children did childish things and lived a normal life. The family servants, the clergy and the local population knew who they were, and they were not persecuted. It was only when the retreating German Army came on the scene that the fate of the family was sealed.I understand the story is based on incidents in the Mazzetti family, and may be written as a novel, but I can understand why it was written and filmed the way it was.I found the film engaging and very moving.
Two sisters (Veronica Niccolai, Lara Campoli), roughly ten and six years of age, are orphaned and then find themselves living in the Italian countryside with their aunt and Jewish uncle. Life is full of adventure and joy until the retreating Nazi troops come on the scene. Recommended!

This is a slow moving, but beautiful movie. Just thought it needed some pix.

Here's a couple... :icon_1dancingban :

As you can see; the girls are absolutely lovely!

Don't remember any 'special' scenes par se, but I've pulled the DVD out and I'm dusting it off and if upon viewing it, find that it DOES; then I'll report back here for all interested... lol

Reshared.

For converting .sub to .srt the standard program is SubRip. Instructions on its use are at How to Rip Subtitles.
