Out of the blue I finally found this movie on DVD, after searching for quite a few years.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101290/
..finally have managed to see `Alas de Mariposa', mostly because my attention fell on Silvia Munt as lead actress. The fact that Fernando Valverde is playing opposite her, also helped. What I did not expect is that both girls playing the younger Amy (Laura Vaquero) and the adolescent Amy (Susana GarcĂa), would steal the show from them.

I think Laura Vaquero has very expressive eyes. :heart

Unfortunately [according to imdb] this was the only film she ever made. ALSO unfortunately she's only in the first half of the movie, then the film jumps years ahead where her character is played by an older actress.. :(

No OT scenes, in this very beautiful but somber, effecting movie. :heart

Bumpety Bump, or more to the point, time to show a little appreciation.

I know the board is quiet, with a good number of the regular contributors taking somewhat of an extended break but this one in particular deserves comments. I've family issues at present that don't allow me the time (or the inclination) to sit down & watch this but I have skimmed through & can confirm it's super-cool AND look at those eyes!

I'm sure kev will not mind when I say he has 'limited' encoding skills! :) However, he's not daft & with persistence learns easily enough. Together, we've managed to get him to produce excellent quality rips AND achieve a long-standing desire of his to rip external subtitles. This is one of the first of the 'new' kev rips & I don't doubt he's pretty pleased with it & himself. I'm just hoping the lack of comments has not taken the edge off his pride in his new found skills.

Bearing in mind kev is one of the most consistent in commenting on & encouraging others who release, how about a little reciprocation?

Give it some thought........

I haven't downloaded or commented because of lack of confidence in kev's skills, but because this film sounds very dark and sad and I didn't really want to invest the emotional capital it undoubtedly deserves. On second thought, you're right about those eyes. :) Downloading now.

I wouldn't say that! So many good movies have been posted lately that I haven't even got to watch this one! Besides, kev reported that there were no OT scenes :(

After all there aren't many new OT movies to post; almost anything OT has been posted already and not many OT movies are being produced today.

My downloads are really slowing down, though. Guess it's time to bump some threads again ;)

I would...........Rich, ghost, emuler, popdrome, ptg,kj & going way back, billanben, Art & terry666. All now fairly comprehensively absent. Would you like me to continue?

I'm sorry you seem to consider the absence of OT scenes a valid reason for not responding. Frankly, I'm beginning to tire of the use here of 'OT'. This could mean 'On-Topic' or 'Off-Topic' & I really couldn't care less which. FLM is about childhood movies, irrespective of whether anyone gets their tits out or we catch an elusive panty shot. Until otherwise corrected by admin I will continue to view it as such.

I'm not surprised BLT & Phuzzy have responded to my mini-rant........However, it is not my intention to have a pop at the regular contributors. My comments are aimed at the great unwashed, who still consider it acceptable to grab & contribute nothing. This was a slow download (another matter I would like to help kev resolve) that gave me plenty of opportunity to see just who was grabbing this. It would be nice if those who did could make the effort to say a few words......

I want to second lb - many former top members don't show up anymore and I want to mention Amadeus - once very active here. Still there are new posts, but it's definitely quiet here now.

Something else, some members tend to see childhood movies only as a source for nipples, pants and little pee lakes. Well, forgot our new member Jape who is chasing bushes too...

It is indeed sad that many former regulars don't visit us anymore, but I don't think there would be many more new movies posted if they were still here. It was different back then -- people just started to rip their DVDs, and loads of old movies were newly released on DVD in the first place. I have relatively large DVD and VHS collection myself, but almost anything on-topic had been released here before I joined (incidentally, some older releases are my own rips that other members have found elsewhere).

Another thing is that many former regulars drop by from time to time, but aren't sharing anything. FLL has helped me to obtain many FLM releases, but there are some movies that even he doesn't have. Most members only reshare their own releases at best, and since so many former members are gone... :wall

No! As I said I haven't watched this movie. And since there have been so many movies posted that are more interesting for me, I probably will not have time to watch this in the near future.

What's on-topic for some is off-topic for others ;)

Well, some say that FLM is about underage tits and panty shots, irrespective if it is a "childhood movie" or not...

I did grab it, because once it is unshared it will be very difficult to get and I might want to watch it some day after all...

Some are also mad for uniforms, and Amadeus particularly liked explicit rape scenes if I remember correctly.

It's not nice to attack Amadeus, as he is rarely here to comment...

Hope it's your sofa :thumbsup
