A few Doctor Who episodes of interest, for those interested: :)

Season 2, Episode 4: The Girl in the Fireplace
The Doctor, Mickey and Rose land on a spaceship in the 51st century only to
find 18th century Versailles on board, the time of Madame De Pompadour!
To find out what's going on the Doctor must enter Versailles and save Madame
De Popmpadour but it turns into an emotional roller coaster for the Doctor.
Jessica Atkins plays the young Madame De Pompadour in a few early scenes.

Season 4, Episode 8: Silence in the Library
The Doctor and Donna join a group of archaeologists at a 51st century library.
What caused the library to become abandoned? What are the Nodes? And what
links the library to one little girl? All they have is one warning - count the shadows.
Eve Newton plays the little girl.

Season 4, Episode 9: Forest of the Dead

There's another little girl besides Eve in this episode in a few brief scenes.

Thanks Jacen!

25 years ago Dr Who was a big favorite of mine, it was on TV every day here. My 2nd trip to England in 1983 was even timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary celebration at Longleat.

But either the show or I myself didn't age well and I stopped following it after the first time it went off the air. Been meaning to look at the new series more closely, this might be a good opportunity :)

I never watched the original series, but I did read a few
Doctor Who novels. I found the whole time travel concept
very fascinating. I only watched those episodes above
for the girls, but I found myself pulled into the story
in spite of myself. So I impulsively watched all of season 4,
then season 3, then seasons 1 and 2. It's a good example of
what good writers and good actors can bring to a show.
Currently the IMDB rating for this new series stands at an
astounding 8.8, the same as Star Trek: TNG! Some of
my favorite episodes include:
Season 1, Episode 9: The Empty Child
Season 1, Episode 10: The Doctor Dances (Florence Hoath
from Tom's Midnight Garden is in these 2 episodes, all grown up of course)
Season 2, Episode 4: The Girl in the Fireplace
Season 3, Episode 10: Blink (My all-time favorite!)
Season 4, Episode 2: The Fires of Pompeii (I loved the ending, very moving)
Season 4, Episode 6: The Doctor's Daughter (The doctor has a cute adult daughter!)
Season 4, Episode 10: Midnight (My second favorite, a good
study of human psychology!)
And the season finales are all pretty kick-ass too, I'd say!

FLL, I hope you'll be drawn in just as I did. :)
And everyone else, give it a chance! You might be surprised. ;)

My favourite, I think, was series 5 episode 1 The Eleventh Hour, CV with a young Amy (Amelia) Pond, played by Caitlin Blackwood (who I think was about 9 or 10) who is actually the cousin of Karen Gillan who plays the older Amy.
I think it must be something to do with the Scottish accent and the ginger hair with both Caitlin and Karen that does it for me ;) :)
