Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong by posting this. There's no emule thing of it. Just a Youtube vid, and a small page on it here: http://multiki.arjlover.net/info/assol.avi.html

Pretty stylish movie. Live-acting superimposed on painted backdrops with some cut-out and frame-by-frame animation thrown in here and there. Really, really cool given the era it was made. Quite a trip.

Honestly I have no idea what exactly this movie's about, but there's this sailor guy who's taking care of a girl whom I'm guessing was orphaned after her mother passed away. Stuff happens, apparently, but I dunno what exactly.

It's another interpretation of the novel "Scarlet Sails" by Alexander Grin.

Is this it? :think

Without more verification this shouldn't be in REL, the usual approach is to make it a request until it's verified to be available on eMule and relevant here. So I'll move it for now...

Fair enough. I thought a good chunk of it was FLM material but I didn't know it had to be OT enough. I recommend it anyway though. The girl is adorable and the movie's pretty good in its own right.

So am I to understand that "On Topic" is being used in a different way here? The way Rich puts it, and the way I've seen it used around the forums seem to suggest that. I can take a hint, but I'm not making the connection between nudity and OT, unless the topic of FLM is nudity. Or maybe I'm reading into this all wrong. Never been too keen on internet acronyms.

@fraulein
a certain percentage here do consider OT is only to be related to nudity. fortunately there is another percentage that has a broader appreciation to youth such as if a film gives a chance to re live at least for the duration of the movie being a kid again and feeling youthful as we watch all the while appreciating the beauty of youth and reminiscing coming of age and of course first love. this is just my opinion. OT can be interpreted many ways as Rich suggests.
in this case I had a hard time looking past the sephia color effect the film has. if not for that I am sure it would be more welcome. the entire film is streamed at the site fraulein linked to. perhaps we can get more opinions :cool

if in doubt,scan the movie with media player classic or vlc and find any child screentime. posting some selected screencaps may allow other members to decide if it's 'OT'(a very overused term) or not.

@ptg, I thought so. Just wanted to clear that up. And I agree, I'm all for the childhood aspect of these films. How being naked is "on-topic" remains unclear to me, though. Ha, not that I mind. Whatever floats your boat.

The movie has this surreal/ethereal vibe to it that I absolutely love. If you like visually trippy movies you'll like this.

A good half of the film is all about her childhood, and this is definitely one of those love it or hate it movies, but it's obviously worth a mention and the girl gets more screentime than some of the films I've seen under REL before. So... childhood flick + ed2k = REL?

AFAIK, there is also a little boy in this story.
