Marie, a strange twelve-year-old girl, is engaged in a cruel game with flies. By her side, her mother is busy in the kitchen. Brigitte, a friend of the mother, exuberant and nymphomaniac arrives. Both speak about men. Marie's presence, silent and foreign to what surrounds her, acts as a revelation. A wind of madness seizes then the characters.

Alice's Spirits   Marie, an unusual twelve year old, devotes herself to a cruel game with flies. Near by, her mother is busy in the kitchen. Brigitte, a friend of the mother, an exhuberant nymphomaniac, enters. Both talk about men. Marie's presence, silent and foreing to her surroundings, becomes a revelation. The characters, then, fall into a fit of madness.   Tragicomedy at the edge of burlesque and absurdity, an adult story, this film presents two universes in contrast - the world of the child and the world of the adult person. Under Marie's view, as through a giant kaleidoscope, reality around her bursts out and lets her perceive individuals who release her and take her in spite of themselves into the vortex of their own phantasmagoria.

Marie, a tragic heroine, guides us into her universe as into a dark labyrinth tinted with surrealism and liberating dreams.
